TFMS Events and Activities
At Tinton Falls Middle School, PTA volunteers are needed to assist with an array of fun activities, including the following.
Honor Roll Breakfast
Each semester, the PTA holds a special breakfast for students who achieve the honor roll. These breakfasts are usually held on the first or second Friday after the semester ends. PTA volunteers assist with food and refreshments and conduct the raffle for door prizes.
Each grade has its own Field Day in the fall or spring, with activities arranged by the Physical Education team. PTA volunteers serve ice pops, which are provided through the PTA.
TFMS holds week-long book fairs in the fall and in the spring. During each book fair day, PTA volunteers assist students in purchasing items and help keep the process flowing smoothly.
At least once a month, the PTA sets up a School Store in the TFMS cafeteria during lunch periods, selling school supplies such as pens, pencils, folders and more. One or two PTA volunteers assist in selling the school-related items and help set up and clean up the display table.
Each winter, students at TFMS showcase their talents during a Variety Show held at the Performing Arts Center (PAC) of Monmouth Regional High School. PTA volunteers sell tickets, hand out programs, maintain order backstage and in the theater during the performances and help sell donated baked goods and refreshments.
Fun Day Dance
In March, the PTA hosts a Fun Day Dance just for students, featuring games, music and refreshments. PTA volunteers help run the games, keep the evening flowing smoothly and distribute refreshments supplied by parents.
Teacher Appreciation Week
During the first week of May, students and parents take time to recognize the efforts of the teachers in our schools. At TFMS, the PTA hosts a teacher luncheon, at which PTA volunteers help set up, serve food and clean up.
8th Grade Graduation Dance
As the largest annual TFMS event, the 8th Grade Graduation Dance is held in the TFMS cafeteria, which is transformed for this special celebratory evening. Planning begins in September and continues throughout the year. Following a kick-off meeting arranged by the chairperson(s), PTA volunteers work on various committees, including Theme Decorations, Food/Refreshments Donations and Table Decorations, Invitations, Memory Poem, DJ/Photographer, Video, Set-up/Clean-up and Chaperones (non 8th grade parents only).
8th Grade Breakfast
To celebrate their final day of 8th grade, students spend the day in the cafeteria signing yearbooks and enjoying breakfast and entertainment provided by the PTA. Volunteers help arrange entertainment and assist with food and refreshments.
