MFA Events and Activities

Field Day

This fun-filled field day features activities arranged by the school’s Physical Education Department. Students also attend a related educational assembly.

Book Fairs

The PTA holds week-long book fairs at MFA in the fall and in the spring, and students enjoy shopping for new books with either a family member or a parent volunteer. During each book fair day, PTA volunteers help students purchase items or make a wish list for them to return at a later date to purchase. Volunteers are also needed for set up/break down of the event.

ABC Reading

On designated reading days, PTA members can volunteer to read a book to students in the classroom and present it as a gift from the PTA for the class library.

Holiday Shop

Held in early December, the PTA run Holiday Shop is always a hit with students, allowing them to purchase gifts for their family and friends. PTA volunteers help students select items they wish to purchase. The Holiday Shop lasts for one week and takes place for the duration of the school day.

100 Days of School Food Drive

As the 100th day of school approaches, each class is encouraged to collect 100 non-perishable items to donate to the local Food Bank. On the 100th day, PTA volunteers collect all donations from the classrooms.

Teacher Appreciation Week

During the first week of May, students and parents take time to recognize the efforts of the teachers in our schools. At MFA, the PTA hosts a teacher luncheon, at which PTA volunteers help set up food and tables and return to clean up.

Display My Art

Through this program, students create original artwork that can be applied to various products for purchase, from stickers to hot plates. PTA volunteers help organize orders and distribute the purchased items.

Second Grade Party

This celebratory event takes place at the end of the school year to send off our second graders as they prepare to move on to Swimming River School. Music, refreshments, and autograph books are provided. PTA volunteers help organize and set up the event, serve refreshments and clean up.
